The key to your email list is to segment your email list

All good marking experts would agree that the money is in your email list. The bigger your list the more you can make. I am not going to get into what service you should use to mail to your email list in this post because as long as you use some reputable you will have a strong deliver rate. That is the main reason to use a 3rd part for your mailings.

The purpose of this post is to talk about segmenting your email list. You might ask how or why? Its simple why… to target a particular part of you list. if its winter time its a waste to email people in New York sandals, but it would be worth it to email people in California. I think its worth it to segment your email list by time zone and/or regions.

Also look to segment your list into active buyers and in active buyers. You are going to want to target your regular customers differently then you a customer that has not bought in a few month or years.

You want to entice non active buyers with a discount or and we miss you message or something along those line.

Remember the money is in the list, but with that said think to email smarter not more frequent. You will thank me when you see your ROI double or triple. :)
