The big buzz question Is Email Getting Taken Over By Social Media? The answer is NO! Social media is great for people to stay in touch, but it will never replace email. If anything the major email accounts (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) will replace social Media. Probably not, but it more likely then Social Media taking over email.

Both these technologies serve different purposes. I keep my linkedin account separate and it links to my email. The good thing about social media is that no spam comes through. The bad thing is that you cant get emails from newsletter that you sign up for. If social media whats to make a run replacing email they need to give there users a physical email address like xyz@facebook.com or who ever the social media site is.

Right now you need to log in with your email address so I cant see email ever get replaced. Email wont go away. It wont happen.

This post is for beginners so if your advanced in SEO this is not the post for you. Now a days everyone is doing SEO and it a part of everyone’s marketing efforts as it should be. To get ranking for popular single words is nearly impossible these days unless you have a HUGE budget. That is not the case with most people.

The smart way to attack SEO is to target phrases and have a strong solid keyword list. Example: If you have a travel to Italy web site don’t try to rank for travel or Italy, Try to rank for Italy Travel Packages. Now you are trying to rank for not one keyword, but four. Italy travel packages, Italy packages, travel packages and Italy travel. Can you see how if done correctly how effective this can be? I hope so.

It all starts with a strong keyword list and there are tools to do this. When you do this think phrases.

If your not doing Pay Per Click (PPC) these days then your not really doing online marketing. To do it successfully you need to either pay a company or learn by trail and error. Since I have been doing this for years now I hope to prevent some of that error.

The main thing is a strong keyword list. depending on what the purpose of your campaign is you don’t need 1000’s of keywords even if people will tell you differently. Only a handful will convert and get you traffic and revenue anyways.

Your ad is the most important thing you have in all your marketing effort. If done properly you can use these ads for everything including print and banner ads. Make sure to put your keywords in your ad. This will bold that keyword and will stand out when someone searches your keyword. Play with broad and exact match, it works in some industries, but doesn’t work in others. Also don’t forget to write more then one ad for each keyword.

Here is the major search to your PPC success. TEST, TEST and TEST. Test your ads, keywords, landing pages everything. Don’t listen to everyone because every industry is different. What might work for one person might not work well for another person.

Also break everything out as best you can. It will help you mange your account easier.

Most industry experts think that Article Submission is dead. Let me ask you a question. How can Article submission be dead when Articles are what feed the search engines? Article submission is the best form of link building in my opinion and is not dead.

Let me explain since there is wrong way to do it.

There are a ton of sites you can post articles on like www.ezinearticles.com and a ton other (If you send me your email I can send you an 8 page list of sites), but there are also article submission software you need to pay for (be careful and pick the right one). Anyway you chose to submit your articles is fine. Just make sure you do so.

Keep in mind if you submit an article its not wise to also post that same content on your site. The search engines see this a duplicate content. Original content feeds the Google’s of the world. Give them what they want and you will truly benefit from this.

Also within the article make sure you link a keyword back to your site. This way you can get in bound links going. This in bound link method is truly my favorite way to get one way links. Yes it takes more effort, but its worth it in the long run.

A lot of people ask me if it’s worth it to build out an eCommerce site. My answer is it depends. If you only have a few products then don’t waste your time and money. If you have 5 - 10 and up products then its worth it.

With only a few products you can use paypal. When you sign up for an account you can use a buy now button that links to your pay pal account. Its simple and easy to do and take literally minutes to do.

If you have more then a few products then its worth building something out because you can cross sell people and engage them to buy your other products. Example if you are selling clothes then you can try to cross sell them accessories.

Have you ever thought about the most opened emails? It’s purchase confirmation, return emails, canceled orders and any other email that a customer expects to receive.

When you buy something you expect to get an email with you confirmation number and tracking codes, when you cancel something you expect to get an email confirming this, I think you get my point.

Studies and research show that these emails have the highest open rates. So the big question is why don’t you try to sell products on these high open rate emails? These emails also have high conversion rates to start selling products on everything you can. Your missing out on free and simple up-selling.

All good marking experts would agree that the money is in your email list. The bigger your list the more you can make. I am not going to get into what service you should use to mail to your email list in this post because as long as you use some reputable you will have a strong deliver rate. That is the main reason to use a 3rd part for your mailings.

The purpose of this post is to talk about segmenting your email list. You might ask how or why? Its simple why… to target a particular part of you list. if its winter time its a waste to email people in New York sandals, but it would be worth it to email people in California. I think its worth it to segment your email list by time zone and/or regions.

Also look to segment your list into active buyers and in active buyers. You are going to want to target your regular customers differently then you a customer that has not bought in a few month or years.

You want to entice non active buyers with a discount or and we miss you message or something along those line.

Remember the money is in the list, but with that said think to email smarter not more frequent. You will thank me when you see your ROI double or triple.

If your reading this then you might have kids or thinking about having kids. This is a life changing experience. For the good or for the worse ill leave that up to you. For me its one of the best things that ever happened to me.

It can be overwhelming and you might think there is to much going on and thinking to yourself what should I do.

The truthful answer is it all depends on your partner. However if I leave it at that then this post would be a bad post and I will also upset some proud mothers so let me tell you some musts to making this new adjustment in life work.

1. Pack the car when you go places -If your partner is anything like mine it takes forever to walk out the door so if you get the car ready you will save time and get to your destination faster.
2. Give your partner some personal time- You need to give your partner a break while you stay home with the little ones. if not one can blow up. Put your self in there shoes. If you hung out with little kids all day wouldn’t you want to interact with adults? I know I would.
3. Dive in and help out- Don’t be afraid to change a pamper, make a bottle, put them to bed or play with your kids. These little things go a long way.

These are just a few teasers and being a man I know how we are so I don’t want to post a long list and overwhelm anyone.

Start small and do what you can. Just make sure you get involved in your kids life.

Have you ever thought about what kids dream about? I can just stare at my 2 month old for hours and she will be smiling, laughing out loud and some times make sad faces.

One day I was thinking to myself what can she be dreaming about. There is not much going on in her world now besides sleeping, pooping, and eating right now. Does she smile and laugh when Daddy is holding her? Does she cry when she dreams about her dirty diapers or when she is hungry or is she dreaming of some crazy world with her driving down the street in a Ferrari with the top down with her and all 2 month old friends.

I think its good for imagination and creativity to dream so dream on little Sofia and will get this answer when you can start to talk. My thoughts are that her dreams are whats going on now in her life.
