How Important is Anchor Linking?

Anchor linking is a part of SEO and gaining in-bound links. The question is How Important is Anchor Linking? It is a big part of SEO in my opinion. Its important for a few reasons.

It helps with navigation. Think about it… if your on a site reading something and there is a link that validates what you are reading your likely to click on it. On page anchor linking will help keep the spiders on your site longer which will help your ranging. Don’t go crazy but you can have 1 - 2 anchor links per page.

Another great way to get in-bound links is through article submission. When you write and submit articles make sure you link a keyword back to your web site.

If don’t tastefully it can help, but do go crazy.

Great and helpful post on Anchor Linking, thank you so much.

Question: Let’s say I am writing a web page on Finance and on that page I talk about “Financial Accounting” a lot. And let’s say I also have a page on the same site that’s called “Financial Accounting”

You’re saying that on the Finance page, I should link the word “Financial Accounting” to the Financial Accounting page on my site… That I get.

But should the other page, the Financial Accounting page, also be linking the word “Finance” to the first page, the Finance page? Or does it not matter?

It seems to me that it’s better if both pages link reciprocally to each other, with each other’s keyword linked. Is that correct?

Please let me know.

Great helpful stuff, thank you.

You want to link both words “Financial Accounting” to the Financial Accounting page. If you have a seperate page called Finance then that word should link to that page.

Best of luck It works like magic.
