PPC The Art Of The Arrow

There are so many different tricks when it comes to PPC. Putting keywords in the text ad makes it bold and stand out, using the right brackets always pulls the keywords within the text ads title etc.

The arrow is one that works and is not often used.

What is the arrow you ask? its when you have the keywords point like an arrow.

Example: let say the keyword is “Signs”

The text ad would read.

Signs for Sale - Title

We sell top of the line Signs - Body text

Signs are the best quality around - Body text

That is the art of the arrow.

Try it you’ll like it.

Link Building Strategies…how important is this?

What is the right link building strategy? Everyone has there own methods to link building. I like to write articles and submit them. I know others that use yahoo answers.

What is the right way. There is no right way, but there are wrong ways. Do use link baiting sites or gateways pages. Other wise you should be good to go.

Is Twitter Good For Your Business?

The big question on people’s mind is how can Twitter help my business? There is a few ways in my mind. It is great for getting traffic to your site, but is it good for getting business leads?

You can get traffic by just befriending people and micro blogging. People will follow and it which will lead to more traffic to your site. Is Twitter a good place to get business leads though? I think you are better off using linked in Hands down. Twitter doesn’t give off that business feel. It’s better to just let people know what your up to.

Don’t get me wrong you can get leads from twitter, but if you do other will know your business to so I would use it just for traffic.

Who To Listen To when It Comes To Online Marketing?

I have been around for awhile now and there seems to be two types of groups when it comes to online marketing. The first group are the Danny Sullivan, Chris Sherman, Berry Schwartz and Jill Whalen (For this post lets call them the green team) of the world which do seminars and work shops and talk about strategies and industry trends.

Next you have the guys out there like Frank Kern, Jeff Walker, Armand Morin and Joel Comm (For this post lets call them the blue team). They also have there own seminars and workshops as well.

So the big question is what way do you go for online success? You can go to all of them if you had $10,000 burning a whole in your pocket. But they teach different things.

I been to both sides to check it out and here is my conclusion. If you are a corporate person in the corporate world then go with the green team. If you are an entrepreneur trying to get things growing on your own then I would suggest the blue team.

I am sorry to throw out names in the post, but lets face it everyone any news is good news.

How Do You Optimize Video?

Now a day when you do a search it is highly likely that a video will show up in the search results. The big question is how did they get there?

There are a few ways to get your video traffic.

  1. When you are uploading your video to you tube or Hulu or using a software they ask you for keywords as well as a description. Don’t skip this step. This is how these companies know what your video is about.
  2. Don’t for get to pop a keyword in the title of you video. This work just like a title or H1 tag so don’t spam it, but use it wisely.
  3. Use a keyword in the video file name. This is important. If you name your file correctly it can make a difference.
  4. If you are not just posting the video and you are putting it on a site or blog then put some intro text around it. As you should know by now the SE LOVE content.

Within the next upcoming months I will be getting video up on my blog so stay tuned. I will stat with some intro SEO tactics then get more advanced down the road.

eCommerce…Is Your Development Company Ripping You Off?

I been around for awhile and my curiosity always gets the best of me when I ask my friends what they spend on an eCommerce site. My jaw drops 99.9% of the time. If I were to ask you how much would it cost to get an eCommerce site up what would you tell me? The answer usually is between $50 - 100k.

The reality is it takes about two weeks (depending of the features) to get an eCommerce site up. So if you pay $100,000 for your eCommerce site you are paying $1250 an hour. Even if you pay $50,000 it still comes to $625 an hour. Don’t get ripped off!!

These company are great at dragging it out for two to three months so you think they are killing themselves.

If you dont want to get ripped off then contact me next time. I can get the same site up for pennies compared to what people pay.

How Smart Is Your Phone?

Now a day VC’s are losing there mind wondering where or who to invest with. They all tell me the same thing. Where to invest and what is going to be the next big thing?

I tell them Mobile Marketing is the way to invest. The technology is not 100% there yet, but the expectations and concepts are there. Soon your phone will do just as much as your computer. They have music, web browsing, video, pictures etc. now and its only getting better. Just remember where you heard this first!!

People say mobile is going to replace email marketing. In my opinion it is’nt true. It will never replace email marketing. You will just be able to check you email through your phone with a smart phone or blackberry like you can now.

Email still remains the #1 ROI in marketing with everything I do so and I don’t see it going anywhere soon.

What Is Twitter To Do?

I know there is a lot out there in the social media realm, but the big question is what is twitter to do? I personally think they should have sold to Facebook when they had the chance.

Twitter seems to think they have everything under control, but they are still not monetized. A word of advice in business if someone offers you a boat load of money for your site that gets loads of traffic, but brings in no money… take it!!!

There is talks that Google wants to buy out the no money making machine. I use twitter, but I rather write something meaningful in my blog then to tell people that I ate an apple today. :)

This is just my personal opinion. Obviously people love twitter and I need to be on it to stay ahead in my field. Other then that I would never use it.

There are pluses and minus which I might write at a later date. Try it and make your own decision if you like it or not.

Web Analytics Art or Science?

When it comes to online marketing web analytics is arguably the most important factor. People might think its an art others a science. The fact of the matter it takes both.

The let me start with the science. This consist of what people are doing on your site, traffic, abandoned cart etc. You need to know what your looking for which should all be at your fingertips.

The art part is what you do then you have the science. You can then changes the pages to try to increase conversion and get the most out of your customers.

Video Marketing What’s Next?

Video Marketing is growing at a rapid speed, but the misconception is that it takes a really long time to create, edit and produce a video.  There are different ways to go about it.

You don’t need you giving a lecture with lights, a $2000 microphone, a producer, director and all of that. The ones the work best and spread virally quickest are the ones that look real. People like to deal with people (In most cases) so set up a camera and go natural on the Video Marketing world.

You can also just show your screen and use a tool that records your screen. Or better yet if you have some extra cash you can get your animation going.
